Annie, I'm still waiting for all the recipes! I thorougly enjoyed walking around Metanoia and just being baffled by all the details and different visions that people brought into the domain. Rita also works with local people, and even if my Spanish was so horrible that I could barely communicate with them, they give off such a peaceful and friendly energy that you can't possibly dislike them.
To top off all of this, the environment is extremely flexible. My girlfriend was working in Bogota, so I made a lot of trips back and forth and was sometimes gone multiple days. As long as you're motivated to help contribute to the sanctuary that is Metanoia, Rita will gladly help you to find a healthy balance.
As for the work there, I spent most of my time digging a new set of stairs with Annie and painting inside when it was raining. You get the chance to walk around the project with Rita the first day and she'll tell you what they need most at the time. But at the end of the day, she gives you full freedom to come up with ideas of what you want to do.
This all is what makes this place so magical, the sheer amount of love that has been put into it by all sorts of people radiates everytime you go back. I cannot recommend this workaway enough, especially for long stays. I just stayed one and a half week with Rita, Annie and the dogs, but I had an amaizing time there.

She integrates herself very fast into a group but also assumes leadership if it is necessary. On the project she cleaned up forests, made stone stairs, maintained a vertical garden and perfectioned it in his plants design.
Also she took care of the vegetable garden. You can leave her completely alone because what she begins and ends is always great and she organice her work herself. At home she cooked, cleaned, took care of all the pets and was like a family member. Convesations with here are great, always interesting.

The work is great, we learnt a lot from Adilbierto the full-time worker - who is a really fun person and easy and interesting to work with. We had lots of great laughs with him during our work. Where the volunteers work is a beautiful sanctuary that is built into a hill, with beautiful plants and trees. Often in our time off we would go back there just to relax.
